In March 2003, the club was granted a royal warrant by HRH The Sultan of Selangor and thus renamed Royal Selangor Polo Club.

Polo is the main activity of the club, and is played up to four times a
week, weather permitting. The club has over 60 active polo players whose
handicaps are determined by the Royal Malaysian Polo Association.
TRAINING NEW PLAYERS FOR TOMORROW
To help develop the sport in Malaysia, the
Royal Selangor Polo Club has introduced a training programme that
will offer the beginner (even one who has never ridden a horse before)
an opportunity to learn the game of polo within three months.
For a package price of just RM2,000, the participant will receive practical and theoretical instructions on basic riding, polo riding, the techniques of hitting the ball with a mallet and the rules of polo. This all-inclusive course comprises 24 regular lessons and three intensive polo clinics, culminating in a two-chukka game. The package price also includes the use of a polo pony for the duration of the training course.
WOMEN IN POLO
Although men currently make up the majority
of players in the world, women's polo has been experiencing significant
growth in recent years.
In Malaysia, the Royal Selangor Polo Club has produced several women polo players within the last decade, and more are expected to take up the challenge of this exhilerating sport.
