Funds raised by the Royal Selangor Polo Club from our members at the Charity Polo Tournament 2006 have been donated to Mercy Malaysia's Humanitarian Fund. Vice-President and Polo Captain Dato' Mohamed Moiz presented a cheque of RM42,35.00 to Ir. Mahzan, executive council member of Mercy Malaysia, at a short ceremony after the club's RSPC Invitational Polo Tournament in May.
Funds were raised from members in a few ways. Some members chose to donate an amount that was then charged through their club account. Polo players who took part in the tournament were charged the normal tournament fees, and these fees were then donated to Mercy Malaysia. Members also participated in a charity auction, and there were also some cash donations. The amount raised was donated in its entirity of Mercy Malaysia.
This is the second year running that the Royal Selangor Polo Club has raised over RM40,000 for Mercy Malaysia.
