This year's Royal Selangor Horse Show was a great success as for the first time it integrated top level showjumping and dressage events with polo.

Fittingly it was a polo player who won the biggest event of the show.  Malaysia's Quzier Ambak was the star of the Tenaga Nasional Berhad SEA League World Cup qualifier #6, beating Marie-Antoinette Leviste in the jump-off.  To read more about the World Cup event, you can use this link to Equestrian.Com.My's article "Quzier strikes back."

Khairy Jamaluddin was the Guest-of-Honour and also Player-of-Honour in the polo activities.  His team of The Boys came close but could not beat The Men on Saturday, though their Pink Lingerie bet will continue.  Dato' Vincent Tang presented the Tang Bowl to The Men: Dato' Mohamed Moiz, Rosli Weldhen, Johan Indot and Peter Abisheganaden.

Khairy was a winner as the Poloticians beat a makeshift Showjumpers team to win the Marco Polo Cup, sponsored by Network Security Solutions MSC Sdn Bhd.

Quzier could not reproduce his jumping form on the polo field as the Showjumper's team were swamped by the Poloticians, who were led by Dato' Mohamed Moiz.  Khairy and Moiz were assisted by Dato' Dr. Jamaluddin Jarjis, Dato' Zulhasnan Rafique and Dato' Aziz.   Jagdeep Khairon of
Network Security Solutions had a good game for the Showjumpers as did Husref Jeremiah who was playing polo for the first time in 13 years.

SEA World Cup League leader Helena Gabrielsson also played a chukka of polo.  Sunetr Burakasikorn says he will switch from showjumping to polo so that he can play the 2007 SEA Games polo in Thailand!

The Dressage Riders team of Johan Ngo, Rizal Ramli, Muhd Iskandar Alias and Hennie Conraad won the Stevenson Cup sponsored by Prima Agri-Products Sdn Bhd.
It was won on the flip of a coin as the game finished in a 4-4 draw with the Cowboys team of Abd Razak Nazahdin, Rosli Weldhen, Johan Indot and Dato' Hatta Ali / Maj. Yap Mou Soon.

The Newcomers (Abd Razak, Jagdeep Kairon, Muhd Iskandar Alias, Johan Ngo) came from behind to beat the Oldtimers (Dato' Zulhasnan, Hennie Conraad,
Dato' Hatta Ali / Maj. Yap Mou Soon and Dato' Aziz) as they ran out of puff in a game played on Saturday.

Jag then grabbed a lance out of the hands of a PDRM Lancer and promptly showed them how to tent-peg like a world champion.  He claims that the two bottles of red wine helped his night vision in the tent-pegging competition that was held at night with lighted pegs.

The magnificent buffet lunch and dinner on Sunday were provided by Hennie Conraad's Prima Agri-Products.  So many of our sponsors were returning sponsors or members of the club.  I'd like to record our thanks to all of them.
