The
Pony Club is an international organization founded on 1st November 1929
in Surrey, England. The objective of the Pony Club is to teach young
people how to ride and care for the ponies.
The Pony Club, housed at the Royal Selangor Riding Club, rallies once a month. Each rally usually lasts up to two and a half hours, with the first hour concentrating on stable management such as bandaging, cleaning tack and health care of the horse. The second half is taken up with riding which can take the form of gymkhana games, a treasure hunt or jumping.
Graded efficiency tests are set by
the Pony Club as an encouragement to members to take aninterest in
their work and to improve their knowledge. All members are expected
to take these tests as and when reach the required level.

At Pony Club, not only do members learn more about horsemanship but have great fun whilst doing so. Confidence and a feeling of camaraderie is instilled, together with sense of responsibility as older children are encouraged to assist the younger ones.
